4' x 8' Samuel May Lions Head
Originally from a Gold Rush era Brothel in Kamloops BC Canada. It spent from the 1960 to the beginning of this Century in a Episcopalian ministers home and was never played on, on Sundays. I have had it since then. Not sure if this makes it a Lucky table or not! LOL
As a Samuel May, Verified by the Serial Number Stamp style, it certainly predates the Brunswick Monarch tables. Brunswick Bought out Samuel May sometime around 1913. The newest Samuel May catalogue we have of is from 1913 with Client comments from 1912.
This table is also Unique in having True Ebony backing as died Pear veneer was a cheaper choice at the time. Even today. And yes we have real Ebony veneer for the repairs that are needed.

This table also is in stages of refurbishing. Images below show some before and after of Veneer repair.
Due to the age from circa 1875, The main rails are quite dry and light so we are adding steel rails so the table plays as good as a new table. See image below for an example of a steel rail.
